AH0197 - Salaried GP
Mayflower Medical Group is changing. We are a single Practice PCN providing Primary Care services to a population of 40000, from five sites across Plymouth. We are developing a new model of General Practice, maximising the skills of a wider Multi-disciplinary team, recognising the unique skills of GPs, the importance of continuity to provide excellent care in the current environment.
We are an entirely Salaried GP service, meaning we are not encumbered by the significant responsibilities of Partnership. However, we still retain clinical discretion, have a voice in how the organisation runs, decision making and service development.
We are now looking to add enthusiastic and forward-thinking salaried GPs to our workforce. We require individuals keen to help deliver our vision and develop the highest quality of service for our patients.
As a large Practice we have the ability to offer a number of different portfolio opportunities and are keen to support Salaried GPs who wish to develop specialist interests both with-in the Practice and the wider Primary Care environment for example Medical Education, and GPwSIs.
Our vision is based around patient driven triage with new technologies in a central hub, allowing the use of longer routine appointments to deal with the more complex aspects of Primary Care. We have an excellent mix of clinical skills including: Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists and Technicians, Practice Nurses and HCAs, First Contact Physiotherapists, Advanced Paramedics, Social Prescribers and Health Coaches.
The majority of routine GP admin work including pathology results, workflow, repeat prescribing and non NHS work is dealt with by dedicated teams with allocated time. We also have an approachable and dynamic group of managers and an excellent administration team, which we are planning to develop further. Our Continued Professional Development is supported by regular Clinical Meetings and we also have a monthly senior clinicians “Action and Decision Group” to develop clinical pathways and processes. We really value our daily coffee breaks to develop our team relationships and support each other in our work.
We have recently become a Training Practice for GP Registrars and host medical students throughout the academic year. We are also looking into research and other opportunities to develop our practice.
