SOM0119 - Home Visiting Paramedic - Somerset

Devon Doctors Ltd is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Home Visiting Paramedic (HVP), to become a key member of our Paramedic service in Somerset.

About the position: With direct line management by the Head of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, you will be responsible for visiting patients within their own home should they not be able to travel to a Treatment Centre. You will contribute towards a ‘one team culture’ throughout the Organisation and promoting a patient centred ethos of “Putting Patients First”.

Responsibilities will include visiting patients in their homes and providing a full assessment of their needs; working with a lead clinician in our CAS to agree an appropriate treatment plan. Working closely with patients, relatives, carers and colleagues, you will provide a patient focused contact – aiming to reduce avoidable hospital admissions and providing safe, effective care within the Out of Hours period. As an HVP you will operate across Somerset. Devon Doctors mainly operates as an out-of-hours service and therefore this role will include working weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

We have various employment options including on a ‘bank’ contract, you will be given to access our online rota system where you can book available shifts that fit around your current role/commitments or a substantive fixed rota pattern.

Who are we looking for? • Registered Paramedic Qualification (HCPC) • Relevant primary degree – 2.2 minimum level • Current HCPC • NHS Pathways Qualification • Full UK Driving licence • Effective communicator able to communicate complex and highly sensitive information (oral and written) • Ability to work within a team, be part of and to create a positive culture and atmosphere for patients and staff
